How to play dominoes
- Each player takes 7 tiles from the 28-tile double-six set. Every tile has two ends showing 0 to 6 dots.
- In the first round, the player holding the highest double opens with it. In later rounds, the winner of the last round starts with any tile.
- Take turns adding a tile to either open end of the line. The touching ends must show the same number.
- Can't play? In Classic and All Fives you draw from the pile until a tile fits. In Block you simply pass.
- The round ends when someone plays their last tile, or when nobody can move and the game is blocked.
- Count the dots left in your opponents' hands: that is your score for the round.
- Keep playing rounds until someone reaches the target.
Dominoes rules at a glance
- Set: double-six, 28 tiles, 7 tiles per player.
- Players: 2, 3 or 4 each on their own, or 2 vs 2 with partners opposite.
- Board: one straight line with two open ends.
- Going out: you score all the dots left in your opponents' hands (in teams, the other team's hands).
- Blocked round: the player or team with the fewest dots wins and scores the others' dots. A tie scores nothing.
- With four players all 28 tiles are dealt, so there is no pile to draw from.
- Target: 101 points in Quick, 151 in Full. You need the top score on your own to win.
Dominoes modes in Rayoosh
- Classic: draw from the pile when you can't play.
- All Fives: score when the ends add up to 5, 10, 15… A double on an end counts both halves, and round points are rounded to the nearest 5.
- Block: no drawing; if you can't play, you pass.
- Quick (to 101): about 10 minutes.
- Full (to 151): about 15 minutes.
Tips to win at dominoes
- Play heavy tiles early. If a round is blocked, big numbers left in your hand count against you.
- Get rid of doubles when you can. They fit only one number and are easy to get stuck with.
- Keep a mix of numbers in your hand so you can answer more of the ends that come up.
- Watch what others pass on. If a player couldn't play on a 4, try to leave a 4 open for them.
- In All Fives, check both ends before every move: the right tile can score 10 or 15 at once.
- In teams, avoid closing off a number your partner needs.

Questions and answers
Which dominoes set does Rayoosh use?
The double-six set: 28 tiles, with ends from blank (0) to six dots. Every player starts with 7 tiles.
What is the difference between Classic, All Fives and Block?
Classic lets you draw from the pile when you can't play. Block has no drawing, so you pass. All Fives draws like Classic and also scores during play whenever the open ends add up to a multiple of 5.
Can we play dominoes in teams?
Yes. Choose 2 vs 2 and partners sit opposite each other. When one partner goes out, the team scores the dots left in the other team's hands.
Who wins a blocked game of dominoes?
When nobody can play, the player or team with the fewest dots in hand wins the round and scores the other hands. If the counts are equal, nobody scores.
How long does a dominoes match take?
About 10 minutes for Quick, played to 101 points, and about 15 minutes for Full, played to 151.
