Play carrom online with family and friends
In India, the carrom board comes out at every family get-together: during the holidays, at Diwali, on rainy afternoons and in hostel common rooms. Rayoosh brings that board online in 3D, so you can flick the striker with a cousin in Pune, a friend in Dubai or your parents in the next room. Play 1 vs 1, or 2 vs 2 with your partner across the board.

The rules are the ones you grew up with: pocket your colour, then pocket the red queen and cover her. Aim by dragging back, set your power and let go. Rayan explains every rule step by step, and you can practise your shots against the computer before taking on the family champion.
How to play carrom
- One side plays the 9 white coins and the other the 9 black coins. The red queen sits in the middle.
- On your turn, slide the striker along your baseline to choose where to shoot from.
- Drag back to aim and set the power, then release to strike.
- Pocket one of your own coins and you shoot again. Pocket nothing and the turn passes.
- Pocket the queen when you can, then cover her by pocketing one of your coins in the same or the next shot. If you don't, she goes back to the centre.
- Clear all 9 of your coins, with the queen covered, to win the board.
Carrom rules at a glance
- Players: 1 vs 1, or 2 vs 2 with partners sitting opposite and sharing a colour.
- Pocketing the striker is a foul: coins you pocketed in that shot come back, plus one of your earlier coins as a penalty.
- An uncovered queen also returns to the centre after a foul.
- You can't pocket your last coin before the queen is covered: it comes back to the board.
- Pocket a rival's coin and it counts for them, not you.
- Board points: 1 for each rival coin left on the board, plus 3 if you covered the queen.
- Quick is 1 board; Full is best of 3. The loser of a board breaks the next one.
Carrom modes in Rayoosh
- Classic: pocket your colour, then cover the queen.
- Quick (1 board): about 8 minutes.
- Full (best of 3): about 20 minutes.
- Players: 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2.
Tips to win at carrom
- Use the whole baseline. Moving the striker a little can open a straight line to a pocket.
- Soft shots are often better: a gentle touch keeps the striker out of the pockets.
- Go for the queen when you already have an easy coin lined up to cover her.
- Leave your last coin until the queen is covered, or it will only come back.
- Avoid knocking rival coins in; each one you pocket brings them closer to the win.
- In 2 vs 2, set up coins for your partner instead of forcing a hard shot.

Questions and answers
Can I play carrom online with friends?
Yes. Create a room in Rayoosh, choose 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 and share the invite link. Friends join in their browser, with no app store download.
What does cover the queen mean?
After you pocket the red queen, you must pocket one of your own coins in the same or the next shot. That covers her and she counts for you. If you miss, the queen returns to the centre.
What happens if I pocket the striker?
It's a foul. Any coins you pocketed in that shot come back to the board, plus one of your earlier coins as a penalty, and an uncovered queen goes back too.
How is a carrom board scored?
The winner gets 1 point for every rival coin still on the board, plus 3 points if they covered the queen. In Full matches, the first to win 2 boards takes the match.
Can I play carrom on a TV?
Yes. Rayoosh runs on phones, computers and TVs, and TV mode gives a bigger layout with remote-control navigation.
