Omani 61 is a point-trick card game from Oman for six players in two teams of three, sitting in every other seat. You hold only three cards and draw a new one after each of the first three tricks. A face-up card sets trump, the aces and sevens carry most of the points, and a team needs 61 of the 120 card points to win the hand.

How to play Omani 61
- Six players, 3 vs 3, with teammates in every other seat. The deck has 36 cards: A, K, Q, J, 7, 6, 5, 4 and 3 of each suit. The 10s, 9s, 8s and 2s are taken out.
- Everyone gets 3 cards. The next card is turned face up, and its suit is trump for the hand. The other 17 cards are the stock.
- The face-up card belongs to the player opposite the dealer, who takes it into hand at the third draw and can't play it before then.
- The player after the dealer leads the first trick, and the winner of each trick leads the next.
- Any card may be played: you never have to follow suit and never have to trump.
- The highest trump wins the trick. With no trump in it, the highest card of the suit led wins. Other cards never win.
- After each of the first three tricks, everyone draws one card, starting with the trick winner. At the third draw, the owner of the face-up card takes it.
- Tricks 4 to 6 are played from hand with no drawing. After 6 tricks all 36 cards have been played, and each team counts the points in its tricks.
Omani 61 at a glance: order, points and amwal
- Order inside a suit, high to low: A, 7, K, J, Q, 6, 5, 4, 3. The seven beats the king, and the jack beats the queen.
- Card points: ace 11, seven 10, king 4, jack 3, queen 2, and 0 for the 6, 5, 4 and 3. That is 30 a suit and 120 in all.
- The amwal, the riches, are the four aces and the four sevens: 84 of the 120 points.
- 61 or more wins the hand and 1 game point.
- 60–60 is a Bayta: nobody scores, and the next hand counts double. A second Bayta in a row makes the hand after it count four times. Any decided hand sets it back to normal.
- Kaba: a team that takes all 8 amwal while the other team takes 10 points or fewer in that hand wins the whole match at once.
- Quick: first team to 4 game points. Full: first team to 8.

Tips to win at Omani 61
- Lead a blank card, a 6, 5, 4 or 3 that isn't trump, and see who shows their strength.
- When a teammate is sure to win the trick, load it: throw an ace or a seven onto their card.
- Don't spend a trump on an empty trick. Save it for a trick worth 10 points or more, or one that decides the hand.
- Watch the face-up card: you know which trump its owner will hold for the last three tricks.
- Once the stock is empty, count what is still out: every card not yet played is in someone's hand.
- When Kaba threatens, take any ace or seven you can, or 11 points or more: either one stops it.

It is completely free, with no real money and no betting. Every match earns Pearls by finishing place, and Pearls can never be bought or cashed out.
How many players does Omani 61 need?
Six, in two teams of three, with teammates in every other seat. On Rayoosh computer players fill any empty seat, so you can play with fewer friends.
Why is the seven so strong in Omani 61?
Inside a suit the order is A, 7, K, J, Q, 6, 5, 4, 3, so only the ace beats a seven. It is also worth 10 points, second only to the ace's 11.

No. Any card may be played at any time. A trump wins the trick over every other suit, and with no trump played the highest card of the suit led wins.
What is a Bayta?
A hand that ends 60–60. Nobody scores, and the next hand counts double; two Baytas in a row make the next hand count four times.
What is Kaba?
Taking all eight amwal, the four aces and four sevens, while the other team makes 10 points or fewer in that hand. It wins the whole match on the spot, whatever the score.
