How to play Spider Solitaire
- 104 cards are dealt into 10 columns: the first 4 columns get 6 cards and the other 6 get 5. Only the top card of each column is face up.
- The other 50 cards wait in the stock, ready for 5 deals of 10.
- Put a card on any card one rank higher, whatever its suit: a 7 goes on an 8.
- Cards that run down one rank at a time in the same suit move together as one run, however long. A pile of mixed suits has to be taken apart first.
- Any card or run can go into an empty column.
- When the last face-up card leaves a column, the hidden card below it turns face up by itself.
- Out of moves? Tap the stock to deal one new card onto every column. You can't deal while a column is empty, so fill it first.
- A full run from King down to Ace in one suit leaves the board at once. Complete all eight runs and the deal is solved.
Spider Solitaire rules at a glance
- Cards: 104, with the Ace low and the King high.
- 1 suit: eight sets of spades ♠. 2 suits: four sets each of spades ♠ and hearts ♥. 4 suits: two sets of every suit.
- Building: down by one rank, in any suit. Moving: only runs in a single suit move together.
- An empty column takes any card or run. Dealing is blocked while a column is empty, unless fewer than 10 cards are left on the table.
- The stock gives 5 deals of 10 cards.
- Score: 500, minus 1 for every move, plus 100 for every completed run. Deals and undos count as moves.

- Duel: 2 to 4 players get exactly the same deal at the same time, with 10 minutes on the clock for the match.

- One deal, about 10 minutes. Pearls by finishing place in a Duel: 30, 15, 6 and 2; Solo games pay a smaller share.

Tips to win at Spider Solitaire
- Turn over hidden cards first: every card you uncover gives you new choices.
- Build in the same suit whenever you can. A same-suit run moves in one go; a mixed pile has to be taken apart card by card.
- Treat an empty column as treasure: use it to rearrange runs, not as a parking spot for a lone card.
- Before you deal, make every move that helps: the new row lands on top of everything and can bury what you need.
- Empty a short column while the stock still holds cards, but have a plan to fill it again, since you can't deal with a gap.
- Start with 1 suit to learn the moves, then step up to 2 suits.

Questions and answers
Is Spider Solitaire on Rayoosh free? Is there real money?
It is completely free, with no real money and no betting. Pearls are earned by playing and can never be bought or cashed out.
How many suits should I choose?
1 suit is the easiest, because every build is also a same-suit run. 2 suits is a real challenge, and 4 suits is for experts: many of its deals can't be solved.
Can every Spider deal be solved?
No. Deals are random, as in most Spider games. With 1 suit most of them can be solved; with 4 suits only a few. In a Duel everyone gets the same deal, so it is always fair.
Why can't I deal?
You can't deal while a column is empty. Move any card or run into it first. Only when fewer than 10 cards are left on the table can you deal with a gap.
How does a Spider Duel work?
2 to 4 players play the same deal at the same time, with 10 minutes for the match. Solved boards rank first, the fastest first; then the most runs; then the higher score.
What is the difference between Spider and Klondike Solitaire?
Klondike uses one 52-card deck in seven columns, builds in alternating colours and sends cards up from the Ace. Spider uses 104 cards in ten columns, lets you build on any suit but only moves same-suit runs, and finished King-to-Ace runs leave by themselves. Both are on Rayoosh.
